We would like to present 3 preparations which are used in skin and external care. Amongst them are Dermovate - potent anti-psoriasis medicine Latisse – Preparation used to improve eyelash growth Vaniqa – a newly developed drug prescribed in treatment of excessive hair-growth
Dermovate – the active ingredient of which is clobetasole propionate is a glucocorticoid preparation, which exerts local anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. The drug eliminates swelling, hyperemia and itching in the place of application.

The preparation is normally prescribed in local treatment of:
- Psoriasis
- Eczema
- Lichen acuminatus
- Discoid lupus erythematosus
- Other skin diseases resistant to therapy with less active corticosteroids.
Latisse - the active ingredient of which is bimatoprost. A medication priorly used in treatment of ocular hypertension. However upon clinical trials it has been seen that the drug not only effectively solves the condition associated with glaucoma but also affects the growth of eyelashes. The drug works by affecting the growth of eyelashes, thus causing increase in their size. The drug is primarily prescribed in patients with a condition known as hypotrichosis or abnormal hair growth, which may be seen in patient suffering from Hallermann-Streiff syndrome and others. The noticeable results of Latisse use appear within 8 weeks from the beginning of the therapy.
And lastly Vaniqa, a preparation containing Eflornithine as the active ingredient. In local treatment the drug is most commonly used for hirsutism or excessive hair growth. In cases of oral or intravenous administration the drug is used in treatment of Sleeping sickness, however severe side-effects accompany internal use. The preparation should not be used in healthy patients and is strongly contraindicated. The mechanism of the drug action in hair growth inhibition is currently unknown, however it is considered that the drug inhibits an enzyme called ornithine decarboxylase, buy dermovate cream which is responsible for polyamines biosynthesis thus regulating hair growth.
